NICE TO "MEAT" YOU
“Nice to Meat You” is an experimental project I did for myself. I really love the different textures and colors that different food can have and was inspired to do something with raw meat cuts. Overall the piece is inspired by 19th century illustrations of French breads and cheeses typically seen in cafés. I drew the pattern in ink on paper, applied watercolor on a separate layer, and scanned both parts in to paste them together and create an overlay effect. I played around with the levels and found the darker, inverted colors created a nice x-ray effect as well.
Mock - Ups
Mock - Ups created to show the variety of uses for the pattern. As well as different surfaces that the pattern can be applied to.
